UniTek Global Services Announces Leadership Changes Across Communications and Power Infrastructure Businesses
JACKSON, Miss., Sept. 14, 2026 – UniTek Global Services, Inc. (“UniTek” or the “Company”), a leading provider of turnkey infrastructure solutions to the communications, power and data center markets, announced several leadership changes designed to strengthen the organization as it continues to expand its capabilities and market presence.
Pete Sandore has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of UniTek Global Services. As part of the Company’s leadership structure, Derek Hutchins will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Communications Infrastructure Services, and Steve Sarno will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Power Infrastructure Services.
The leadership changes provide dedicated executive oversight for UniTek’s two core infrastructure businesses while maintaining a unified strategy across the broader organization. Together, Sandore, Hutchins and Sarno bring extensive experience building and leading infrastructure services businesses and serving customers across the communications, utility and power markets.
Pete Sandore Named Chief Executive Officer of UniTek Global ServicesPete Sandore brings more than three decades of leadership experience across the power, utility and communications infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining UniTek, he served as Chief Executive Officer of PLH Group and as Chief Executive Officer and later Chairman of Sabre Industries. Sandore previously served as Chairman of UniTek’s power business, giving him an established understanding of the Company, its operations and its growth strategy. As Chief Executive Officer of UniTek Global Services, he will lead the Company’s overall strategic direction and oversee its operational and commercial priorities.
Derek Hutchins brings more than 25 years of experience leading and growing businesses within the telecommunications infrastructure industry. He founded and led Hutchins Telecom before joining UniTek, where he has played a significant role in the Company’s growth and development, most recently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. Through his operational leadership and deep industry experience, Hutchins has helped expand UniTek’s communications capabilities, strengthen its customer relationships and build the scale and resources that position the Company for continued growth. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Communications Infrastructure Services, he will lead UniTek’s communications businesses, with a continued focus on operational excellence, customer partnerships and expanding the capabilities needed to support the deployment and maintenance of critical communications infrastructure.
Steve Sarno brings extensive leadership experience in power delivery, utility construction and infrastructure services. Prior to joining UniTek through the acquisition of Concurrent, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Concurrent Utility Services. As President and Chief Executive Officer of Power Infrastructure Services, Sarno will lead UniTek’s growing power business, which supports electric utilities and infrastructure developers through power construction, maintenance, emergency restoration and related infrastructure services.
Sandore succeeds Charlie Smith, who has led UniTek since September 2021 and is retiring from his executive role. Smith will remain with the Company as an advisor, supporting the leadership transition and providing ongoing strategic guidance.
The leadership structure positions UniTek to continue building on the strengths of its communications and power businesses while creating greater alignment across the organization. With experienced leadership dedicated to each core market, UniTek will continue to invest in its people, capabilities and operating platform to support customers as their infrastructure needs grow in scale and complexity.
